Eugene “Gene” Eudy, 62, passed away into the loving arms of his personal Lord and Savior, at 3:14 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015, at OSF Saint Anthony’s Health Center in Alton. He was born December 6, 1952 in Alton the son of Elmer and Wanda (Dowdy) Eudy. He was a devoted husband and father to his family. He was a Tankerman for Economy Boat Store since 1973. He was a faithful Christian and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed trout fishing and camping at Montauk State Park and loved listening to Elvis Presley. On November 26, 1980 he married Sharon (Mead) and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sara Burian (Jason) of glen Carbon and Amy Smith (Jake) of Wood River. He was the proud Grandpa of, Malachi Baker, 8, and Eli Burian, 5. He shared his love for the outdoors with them. His grandchildren were one of the most important things in his life. He also had two step grandchildren, Gabe and Isaiah Smith, also surviving is his mother, Wanda Eudy of Bethalto, one brother, Danny “Little Brother Eudy (Terri) of Wood River, and two sisters, Helen Strong (Mike) of Dorsey and Theresa Leese (Paul) of Bethalto. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Eudy. Visitation will be Monday, November 9, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton with Reverend Andre’ Dobson to officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
