Eleanor “Jean” Kreider, 83, passed away at 10:25 am Monday, March 30, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton with her family by her side.
She was born on September 17, 1931 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of Roy and Ethel (Donahoo) Davis.
She married Richard D. Kreider on October 2, 1964. He survives.
Jean was a homemaker. She was a member of the Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, dogs, making crafts, fishing and being outdoors and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, three children and their spouses, Robert “Bob” Levey of Gillespie, Connie and Gary Stock of Bethalto and Laura and Kent McVey of New York City, NY; three grandchildren and their spouses, Nicole and Steve Mitchell, Brenda and Audie Martin and Chesarae and Frank Martinez; eight great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and her spouse, Ryan, Paije, Deyton, Timothy, Madyline, Breydon, Michael and Parker; one great great grandson Kolten; her siblings and their spouses, Paul and Phyllis Davis of Odin, IL, Helen Webster of Newburg, IN and Patricia Bierman of Centralia, IL and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until services at 11:00 am Friday, April 3, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf in Bethalto.
Inurnment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to 5 A’s Animal Shelter.
