Eileen Rosemary Stiles, 88 years old, passed away at 7:25 am Monday, August 17, 2015, at St. Clare’s in Alton.
She was born February 14, 1927 in England, the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Worth) Powell.
She married Ralph C. Stiles on January 16, 1956; he preceded her in death in 1970.
Eileen had worked in the Foster Grandparent program in the Alton School District for 17 years and enjoyed needlepoint
She is survived by three daughters; Linda (Steve) Stoeckel of Alton, Carol (Kenneth) Pratt of Wood River and Gail Holmes of Granite City; one son Terry (Candy) Stiles of Granite City; eight grandchildren Kristina, Eric, Brandon, Cody, Breanna, Justin,
Ryan, and Travis; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Powell and a sister Dorothy Ross.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 4 to 6 pm at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
