Edina L. (Buckshot) Davis, 70, died at 12:01 a.m. Monday, September 7, 2015 at Alton Nursing & Rehab. Born September 2, 1945 in Alton, she was the daughter of Eugene G. Jr. and Maxine (Smotts) Buckshot. Edina worked as a CNA at St. Joseph’s Hospital for five years. Surviving is a daughter, Kathleen Short-Donovan (Jack Donovan III) of Hollywood, FL, three grandchildren, Kellie Marie Perry, Whitney Nicole Perry, and Craig Perry Jr. all of Alton, four grandchildren, Sky-Lei, Rayne-Lei, Brayden, and Alex. Also surviving are three sisters, Carol McClain of Alton, Marian Dunston of Colorado Springs, CO and Bobbie Jo Curry of Alton and a sister-in-law, Barb Buckshot of Godfrey. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son James Edgar Short, a brother, Ron Buckshot, two sisters, Becky Noble and Sheila Geabes, and two brothers-in-law, John Dunston and Stan Geabes. Visitation will be from 4:00 until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Burial will be private.
