OCCUPATION: Dorothy came from very humble beginning from Calhoun County. She was not afraid of a hard day’s work on the farm. Her children would enjoy fresh milk, cream and eggs. She was a homemaker to her children and grandchildren. She was a kind and gentle woman with strong Christian values and secure in her faith. She loved baking pies and her family dearly enjoyed her home-cooking. She never left the house without her onion salt. Mammaw, as she was known to her grandchildren, loved gathering flowers, working in the garden while listening to the birds sing, and picking blackberries and strawberries. She would often be found in the kitchen listening to Christian Hymns on the radio all day long as she made homemade fruit cobbler, breads and butter. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege and honor of knowing such a sweet soul.
