Donald E. McClintock, 94, of Bunker Hill, IL, passed away Tues. Mar. 22, 2016 at University Nursing & Rehab in Edwardsville, IL.

He was born Apr. 3, 1921 in Wood River, IL to the late John & Amelia (Wagner) McClintock.

On Apr. 24, 1954, he and Julia Edith Crim were married in Bethalto, IL.  She preceded him in death on June 28, 1995.

Don was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving from 1942 to 1945 as a Liason Pilot with the 1st Cavalry in the Pacific Theater, and was twice a bronze star recipient.  After the war he became a self-employed home builder.

Survivors include: 5 children, Donald John (Caroline) McClintock of Collinsville, IL, Kathleen (Estel) Kern of Rosewood Heights, Joseph (Natalia) McClintock of Glen Carbon, IL, John McClintock of Kevil, KY and Judith (Joseph) Ray of Bunker Hill, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Gaul and 4 brothers, Robert, John, Richard & William McClintock.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Fri. Mar. 25, 2016 at Paynic Home for Funerals.  Services will be private as burial at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with military honors.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
