Dean M. Terry, 88, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at his home.

He was born April 4, 1926 in Mulberry Grove, IL, the son of Melvin & Thelma (Neathery) Terry.

Dean married June Chamness on September 9, 1944 in St. Charles, MO.  She survives.

He served his country in the US Marines during WWII from 1944 to 1946 as a PFC at Okinawa and Guadalcanal.

Dean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Carpenter and liked hunting.  He worked for Union Electric as an Instrument Technician for 18 years until he retired in 1989.

He is survived by five sons and four daughters-in-law, and one daughter: Roger Dean & Monika Terry of San Antonio, TX, Richard Lee & Joan Terry of Rosewood Heights, Kenneth Wayne & Nancy Terry of Munford, TN, Johnny Robert Terry of Rockford, IL, Diana Lynn Truman of Osceola, Iowa, and Darryl Glenn & Lisa Terry of Edwardsville, IL; thirteen grandchildren, and twenty two great-grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be from 11 am until time of Funeral Services at 1pm Friday, February 13, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor James Lee officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with military rites given by Alton VFW Post 1308.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in Carpenter.
