David Foster

David M. Foster, 67, passed away 10:08 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born in Alton on January 6, 1948, he was the son of Beverly (Dooling) Foster of Alton and the late Tom Foster.
A U.S. army, Vietnam veteran, receiving a Bronze Star while serving there from June of 1969 to February of 1969. He was a member of the Wood River V.F.W. Post 2859 and East Alton American Legion Post 794.
David worked in the Athletic Department for SIU-E for 30 years before retiring.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Kevin (LeeAnn) Foster of Chesterton, IN and Bill Foster (Jo Aldridge) of Asheville, NC.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Woodland Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by East Alton Legion Post 794.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Program.
