David James Ohlendorf, age 67, of Maryville, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO, with his loving family by his side. David was born on March 21, 1948 in Granite City, IL, a son of David Edward Ohlendorf and the late Mary Louise (Frey) Ohlendorf.
On November 11, 1967, David married Linda Peter, the love of his life in Granite City, IL. David had retired from Boeing Corporation as an engineer after many years of dedicated service. He was a Past National President of BCCA. David was a history buff, especially breweriana history. He also enjoyed collecting beer cans and traveling with his family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. David loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, David was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Vera (Zellin) Brooks.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Ohlendorf of Maryville, IL; loving children, Amy Ohlendorf of O'Fallon, MO and Matt Ohlendorf of Edwardsvile, IL; dear father, David Ohlendorf of Granite City, IL; father-in-law, Harold Brooks of Elizabethtown, KY; extended family and many dear friends.
David requested no services and that his body be donated to science.
