Betty A. McGee, 88, formerly of Wood River, passed away 5:10 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Granite Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born on December 7, 1925 in Alton, she was the daughter of Alvis and Elizabeth (Menely) Reno.
Betty had been a laundry attendant at VIP Manor.
On January 1, 1945 in Granite City, she amrried Maurice R. McGee. He died September 30, 1992.
Surviving are four sons, Morris 'Butch' (Denise) McGee of Granite City, David McGee (companion, Lulu) of Florida, Joseph (Pam) McGee of East Alton, Buddy (Rachel) of Wood River; two daughters, Sharon (Larry) Lievens of Granite City, Donna Sutton of Indian Mounds, TN; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Alphia Sinsabaugh of New York and Eileen Stanfill of Arizona.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter Mary Ellen McGee; and two brothers, Hal and Buddy Reno.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Carla Frost will officiate.
Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
