Barbara Menzie

Barbara K. Menzie, age 67, passed away at 7:30 am on Monday, June 15, 2015 at her residence.She was born September 10, 1947, in Alton, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Brown) Williams. She married James “Jim” Menzie on November 5, 1966 and he survives.Barbara was of the Pentecostal faith, and loved her church family. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart.In addition to her husband, Jim; she is survived by two children and their spouses, Tina and Thomas Gegg of Alton, and James F. and JoLie Menzie of Arizona; her siblings, Charlotte Fessler of Elsah, Paul Williams of Wood River, and Thomas Clyde and Debra Williams of Jerseyville; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and her sister-in-law and special friend, Sandy Williams.She is preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Brandon Menzie.Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015, from 5:00 until the time of funeral service at 7:30 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor George Daubman officiating.A private burial will take place in Upper Alton Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
