Alvin O. Ivy, 49, died at 5:50pm, Friday November 28, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born September 26, 1965 in Dover, Delaware, he was the son of Jesse and Shirley (Agney) Ivy. On April 16, 1994 he married Dawn (Ottwell) in Cottage Hills, IL and she survives. He was a welder for National Maintenance Co. of Hartford, IL.
Survived by his wife, Dawn, one daughter; Curie Ivy of South Roxana, two sons; O’Ryan Dailey (Amanda) of Shenandoah, Iowa and Jesse Ivy of South Roxana, one brother; Shawn Ivy (Tonya) of Rosebud, Mo two sisters; Wendy Chaney (Steve) of Chattanooga, TN and Sandra Harris (Ben) of New Lenox, IL, 6 grandchildren Malachi, Morgan, Ethan Capps, Emma, Elijah, and Xavier Dailey and one great-grandchild; Zachariah Capps.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial visitation will be from noon until service at 2:00pm Monday December 1, 2014 at Gospel Tabernacle Church in Godfrey with Rev. Alfred Daves officiating.
