Lucile Daugherty

Lucile Mae Lewis Daugherty, 86, died at 9:37 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2014 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.She was born in farmhouse two miles north of Grandin, Mo., on Sept. 21, 1928, the daughter of the Sidney & Meva Lena (Pitts) Cooper.Her family moved to Fredericktown, Mo., in 1943, and she attended high school there.She married Harold Lewis on June 21, 1945 in Flat River, Mo., and the two shared nearly 59 years together before his death on Feb. 9, 2004.  She then married Dale D. Daugherty on Jan. 11, 2008 in Jerseyville, and they truly enjoyed their short time together before his death on Nov. 9, 2010.Surviving are a son & daughter in law, Gary & Donna Lewis of Brighton; her stepchildren & their spouses, Terry Maupin ofArvada, Co., Rebecca Kolkmeyer of Jerseyville, Timothy & Patti Daugherty of Staunton, and Beth Ann Davis of Jerseyville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters & a brother in law, Jean Reed of Festus, Mo., and Marie & Clarence Cox of Denver, Co.In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by her infant three day old son, David Lewis; two brothers, Cecil Cooper and Glen Cooper; and two sisters, Irene Condra and Louise McDowell.Visitation will be from 11 a.m, Wednesday until time of funeral services at  1 p.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home inJerseyville.  Rev. Brent Meyer will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, where she was a member.
