Judy C. Thomeczek, 78, died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis after a brief illness. She was born May 10, 1936 in Paducah, KY the daughter of John “Ned” and Mary E. (Eddings) Nance. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. On May 2, 1958 in Sacramento, CA she married Harold J. Thomeczek Sr. and he survives. Also surviving are three daughters; Mary Anna Newcomb (Kent) of Godfrey, Georgia Adams (Greg) of Godfrey, Monica Thomeczek-Meyer of Godfrey and one son; Daniel R. Thomeczek (Jodie) of Godfrey, eleven grandchildren; Andrew, Maddie and Abby Newcomb, Karra, Nyssa and Kynlee Adams, Roman, Owen, Addison, Caleb and Drew Thomeczek, one half brother, John “Skip” Nance of Murray, KY. She was preceded in death by two sons; Thomas Michael Thomeczek in infancy and Harold J. Thomeczek Jr. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey with Father Steve Pohlman officiating. Burial will be at St. Patricks’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic School or Marquette Catholic High School.
