Anna Jean Walter, 78, died at 3:56 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born October 7, 1935 in Roodhouse, she was the daughter of Gailand and Susan E. “Wee” (Ash) Stansbury. Mrs. Walter was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. She was an RN for 36 years having worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Catholic Children’s Home and Eldercare Nursing Home. On February 9, 1957 she married Victor “Vic” Walter in Alton. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2011. Surviving is a daughter Gail Beiser (Bill) of Alton, a son, Scott Walter of Alton, three children, Adelaide “Addie” Beiser, W.C. “Billy” Beiser IV (Sarah), Gustave Victor “Gus” Beiser (Alexandria), three great grandchildren, W.C. “Will” Beiser V, Kayla Beiser, and Lila Jean Beiser. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
