Marjorie Kay Means, 75, died at 6:20 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2014 at Alton Rehab and Nursing. She was born June 10, 1939 in Alton the daughter of the late Walter and Freida (Groppel) Calvey. She retired from Eldercare Nursing Home as a CNA. She was a member of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed crafts and shopping. On May 18, 1963 in Alton she married Harold E. Means and he survives. Also surviving are three children; Shawn Means of Godfrey, Patrick Means (Kelly) of Alton and Shannon Longbottom (Rob) of Chicago, IL, and one sister; Mary Ann Edelen of Alton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday with Monsignor Kenneth Steffen to officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton. Memorials may be made to Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton.
