Lola May Harmon, 80, formerly of Roxana, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at her home in Texas.
Born Feb. 24, 1934 in Roxana, she was the daughter of Albert Wayne and Annabel (Fagan) Bean.
She married Robert Gale Harmon June 14, 1954 in Roxana. He survives in Kingsland.
Mrs. Harmon earned her master’s degree in education and was a schoolteacher in the Roxana School District #1.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Lonnie Gale (Kimberly) Harmon of Kingsland; a daughter, Jeanne (Larry) Newell of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; ten grandchildren, Natalie (Michael) Runyan, Nathan (Lisa) Harmon, Eli Harmon, Jeff Harmon, Ben Harmon, Josette Harmon, Dayana Harmon, Fenduelle Harmon, Bryan Newell, and Matthew (Charity) Newell; thirteen great-grandchildren, Eliana Runyon, Madeline Runyon, Meghan Runyon, Isabella Runyon, Jude Runyon, Evangeline Runyon, Joyanna Runyon, Sophia Runyon, Brooklyn Runyon, Elliott Harmon, Luciana Harmon, Owen Harmon and Silas Newell; and two brothers, Joe Frank (Susie) Bean of Roxana and Donald Wayne (June) Bean of Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Albert Glen Bean.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Apr. 28 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Apr. 29. Pastor Dave Bunyan will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
