Julie R. (Crose) Dickinson, 39, died at 2:50 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at V.I.P. Manor in Wood River. Born March 29, 1974 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Arvin J. and Betty Crose of Collinsville and the late Mary Dell (Bott) Crose. Julie was a Candy Stripper at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton and graduated from Alton High School in 1992. She received her LPN from the J.B. Johnson Center in 1992 and earned her Bachelor of Nursing degree and her RN from Andrews University in Berrein Springs, Michigan in 1996. She worked as a registered nurse at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, MO and at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. She also worked as a private nanny in St. Louis, MO. On August 13, 2000 she married Robert Lee Dickinson. He survives. Also surviving is a son, Reuben Dickinson, three sisters, Denise Stone of Godfrey, Anne Gonzalez (Scott) of Godfrey, and Lynne Wheeler (Scott) of Florissant, MO, four nieces and two nephews, Anna, Grace, Rachel, and Sarah Gonzalez, and Garrett and Wyatt Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Dell Crose. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Greater Alton 7th Day Adventist Church in Alton. Pastor Dale Barnhurst will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
