Frances Baird-Ray, 87, died at 3:30 a.m. on August 6, 2013 at Bethalto Care Center. She was born September 30, 1925 in Godfrey, IL and was the daughter of Frank and Jeanette (Doty) Boker. Frances married Royal Baird Sr. on March 24, 1945. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1980. Frances married Marion Ray on September 19, 1997.
He survives. Also surviving are four sons, Royal Baird Jr. of Holiday Shores, Charles W. Baird of Godfrey, Roland Baird of Edwardsville, and Clark Baird of Alton, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Calvin, and Leonard Boker, and three sisters, Freda Wright, Clara Boker, and Geraldine Strong.
Per her wishes there will be no services.
Her body was gifted to St. Louis University School of Medicine. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone at the Bethalto Care Center and to BJC Hospice for the wonderful care given to our mother.
