Helen I. Law, 88, passed away at 11:52 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon with her family by her side.

She was born on December 29, 1924 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Francis W. and Goldie F. (Hoffman) Smith.

She married Joseph Curtis Law on November 21, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away on November 18, 1985. 

Helen graduated from Maplewood High School in Camp Point in 1942.  She was homemaker and an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, serving as a Eucharist Minister for over 25 years.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lindal and Janice Law of Fairview Heights, Kevin and Vineta Law of Edwardsville, Colette and Mark Cowan of Edwardsville, Layne and Karen Law of Bethalto, Lori and Melvin Czeschin of Bethalto and Gail and Willie Belleville of Moro; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Law of Bethalto; eighteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Lonnie Law and two sisters, Ann Bollman and Betty York. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.  A rosary service will be held at 3:30 pm.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 7, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. 

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Chapter of St. Vincent DePaul Society or Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church
