Marian E. Cunningham, 85, died at 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at her home in Alton. Born December 12, 1927 in Mozier, IL, she was the daughter of Carl Peeler and Helen (Kincade) Peeler Holland. She worked for Owens-Illinois Glass for 13 years and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. She was a member of the Community of Christ in Wood River where she served as church historian for the Wood River congregation. On October 15, 1958 she married Laverne Cunningham in Alton. He survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Margaret Losch of Alton, two sons, Charles Cunningham (Sabrina) of Godfrey, and Richard Cunningham (Stacey) of Wood River, seven grandchildren, Jason Cunningham (Brianne) of Alton, Jennifer Losch of Fieldon, Helen Windsor (Kenny) of Bethalto, Kelsey Cunningham of Godfrey, Jake Cunningham of Godfrey, Meghan Cunningham of Wood River, and Rachael Cunningham of Wood River, six great grandchildren, Tyler Windsor of Rosewood Heights, Warren Losch of Fieldon, Arwyn Losch of Fieldon, Bryan Cress Jr. of Fieldon, Keely Windsor of Bethalto, and Regan Windsor of Bethalto, one great-great grandchild, Levi Windsor of Rosewood Heights, a brother, Jack Holland (Dixie) of Louisiana, MO, a brother-in-law, Howard Cunningham of Wrights, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews .
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laverne and Ed Cleveland and Frances Stoneburner.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013.
Pastor Rick McKane will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Community of Christ or a charity of choice.
