Robert E. Madison Sr., 83, died at 7:14 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton.
Born March 10, 1930 in Louisiana, MO, he was the son of the late Joseph M. Madison and Mary (Davis) Moore. He retired after several years as superintendent of Fairmount Addition.
On October 14, 1950 he married the former Nina M. Harris in Alton. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Rose Mary Carter (Bob) of Alton, two sons, Robert E. Madison Jr. of Alton, and Michael W. Madison (fiancé Brenda) of Alton, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a brother, Hardin “Doc” Madison (Mickey) of Louisiana, MO. He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Bonnie Sue Madison, a son, Terry Lee Madison, a brother, J.W. Madison, and two sisters, June Stumpe and Rosa Stevens.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Burial will be private at upper Alton Cemetery.
