Worthy Darrell Exton III, 85, of Roxana, IL, died at 10:08 a.m. Fri. March 29, 2013 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL.
He was born June 27, 1927 in Wood River, IL to the late Worthy Darrell & Beatrice (McMillen) Exton II.
The WWII US Army veteran retired from Standard Oil Co. after 20 years of service.
On July 27, 1990, he and Kathy Walker were married in Wood River. She survives in Roxana.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a daughter, Amanda (Matt) Elliott of Washington, 4 sons, Greg (Angie) Exton of Moro, IL, Glenn (Ella) Exton of Highland, IL, Gary (Erin) Exton of Alton and David Sorenson of Roxana, 9 granddaughters, Madison, Elayni, Erin, Emily, Amber, Heather, Victoria, Ava & Layla, 2 grandsons, Asher & Josh, 2 great-grandchildren, Kade & Zayden, a brother, Maurice (Bonnie) Exton of AR, a sister, Shirley (Glenn) Browning of Godfrey and a close friend, David Summers.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Exton.
The family will hold a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Sat. Apr. 6, 2013 at Calvary Lighthouse, 1205 W. Pontoon Road, Granite City, IL.
