Samuel Campbell

Samuel William "Sammy" Campbell, 20, accomplished his destiny and purpose that God had planned for him.  He was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:20 p.m.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1992 in Jerseyville, and was the son of Matthew & Jill (Angel) Campbell.
Sammy graduated with the Class of 2011 from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, where he participated on the Panther Soccer team, and later joined the Job Corps in Edinburg, Indiana in the carpentry trade.
Sammy's favorite pastimes were his love of music, sports, art, spending time with his family and his friends, who came to refer to him affectionately as "Taz".  He recently had been a volunteer at Willow Rose Nursing & Rehab in Jerseyville, and was known as "Coach Will" for their Senior Olympics.
He is survived by his parents, Jill & Greg Blackorby and Matthew Campbell all of Jerseyville;  his brother & sister, Hunter & Addison Campbell; his sisters, Alyssa & Kirsten Blackorby; his grandparents, Bruce & Cathy Mindrup of Jerseyville, Darrell "Bill" and Mary Campbell of Dow, Denny & Sheila Angel of Wood River, Kenny Blackory of Jerseyville, and Sharon & Jim Hagedorn of Jerseyville; His unles & their spouses, Dave & Arlene Campbell, and their children, John, Joey & Jessica all of Michigan, Jeff Campbell, and his daughter, Lisa Rogers of Oklahoma, Chad Angel of Jerseyville, Bobby, who also served as his Godfather, and his wife, Sara Mindrup of Knoxville, Tn. and their son, Finley Robert Mindrup , Alex Mindrup of Tampa, Fl.; Matthew Mindrup of Carbondale; Jeff & Connie Blackorby and their children, Beau and Brittney; and Brad & Amber Blackorby and their children, Parker, Jett, Belle & Cruise all of Jerseyville; along with his Godmother, Beth Dickerman of Jerseyville,  and his special cat "Teddy".
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Joshua Campbell; Great Grandparents, Elmer & Edna B. Johnson; Dr. Robert & Elizabeth Mindrup, and Leo & Ruth Angel, Jasper & Hilda Blasa, and Raymond & Sadie Campbell.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday.  Rev. Glen Greenwood and Father William Hembrow will officate.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials would be preferred to the Willow Rose Nursing & Rehab Activity Department in honor of Sam
