Kenneth E. Bakken, 53, passed away at 2:45 am on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1959 in Dekalb, IL, the son of Peter H. and Leona M. (Fleck) Bakken Sr.
He married Becky Stewart on July 1, 1985 in Whitley City, Kentucky. She survives.
Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a truck driver for Conway Trucking. He was a member of Faith Fellowship in Alton. He was the ultimate Chicago Bears fan and he enjoyed camping, motorcycles and golfing.
In addition to his wife of Bethalto and his father of Lincoln, IL, he is survived by his siblings and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Rita Bakken of Lincoln, IL, Theresa and Mike Shafiabady of Kankakee, IL, Peter and Denise Bakken Jr of Shabbona, IL, Charles and Jeannine Bakken of Beason, IL and Roger and Jeannie Bakken of Broadwell, IL; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Missy and Roger Prior of Riverton, IL and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a daughter, Lindsey Bakken-James.
A memorial visitation will be from 4:00 until services at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Daymond Talkington officiating.
Private burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Kayden Stephenson College Fund in care of the 1st National Bank.
