James W. Bradford, 65, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, in Wilmington, Del. He resided in Alvord, Texas.
He was born on July 11, 1946, in Red Bud, Ill., the son of James and Burtle (Phelps) Bradford.
He married Sharon Moore in 1964. She is deceased. He married Sheryl Cairns in 1976.
Jim worked for Eberls Claims Services and Pilot Catastrophe Services as an insurance claims adjuster. He also worked in the auto body industry for most of his life and was greatly respected in his field across the nation.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela (Bradford) Valdes of Wood River, Pamela (Bradford) Muse of Alton, and a son, Jeremy Bradford of Highland; seven grandchildren, Crystal (Durham) Stride, Heather Bradford, Stephanie Hack, Cory Valdes, Brittany Valdes, Jonathan Muse and Brianna Bradford; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Towell, Zachary Meador, Reese Stride and Makai Bradford; brothers, Bob Blake of Marissa, Ill, Don Forshee of Winona, Minn., and one sister Bev Parr of Aberdeen, Miss.; two sons-in-law he considered as sons, Ralph Valdes of Wood River and Martin Muse of Alton; also, many other relatives, friends and co-workers that he loved greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Brian Bradford.
A memorial and celebration of life service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 4, at Cornerstone Church 196 S. Moreland Road, Bethalto, IL 62010. Pastor Phil Schneider will officiate.
