Rose Barnes, 81, passed away at 9:50 am Friday January 20, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on June 14, 1930 in Ironton, MO to the late Ray and Dove (Allsman) Brown.
She married Sherman Barnes on January 17, 1948 in Arkansas and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2005.
She was a bookkeeper for Dooley’s Limited in St. Louis for thirty years. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Wood River, IL.
Rose is survived by one daughter Melody and husband Allen Mans six grandchildren Mike (Melanie) Retzer, Deavon (Cindy) Retzer, Michelle (Dave) Gaffney, Brian ( Lola) Mans, Becky (Joe) Caselton, Lee(Elaine) Mans, ten great grandchildren, two brothers James and Bobby Brown of Ironton, MO, and one sister Sharon Brown of Ironton, MO.
Her parents, husband and one brother Bill Brown preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to Jacqueline Maritz Lung Center in care of Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
