Lorene Christian, 78, died on January 19, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on March 19, 1933 in Brinkley, AR, to the late John and Jessie (Talley) Fisher.
Lorene married Victor G. Christian Sr., on November 22, 1951 in Alton, IL; he preceded her in death in 2004.
Lorene was a member of the Heartland Baptist Church in Alton. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Alvirita’s School of Cosmetology for 10 yrs.
She is survived by one daughter and her spouse; Cathy and Don Read of Lebanon, MO, one son and his spouse; Victor and Vicki Christian of Alton four grandchildren; Brad and his spouse Angie Christian, Chris Christian, Jaime and her spouse Jack Barnerd, and Jeffrey and his spouse Carissa Read, three great grandchildren; Kailie and Cassie Christian, and Cody Barnerd, one twin sister; Mary Belangee of Alton.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother; Wesley Fisher.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm, Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, where the funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, January 23, 2012. The Rev. Jim Grant will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Bethalto, IL.
Memorials may be made to 5 A’s.
