Doris Shaw Doris Johngy (Bray) Shaw, 85, died suddenly  at 8:45 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2012 just hours after celebrating her birthday with family. She was born in Wood River on Jan. 9, 1927, and was the daughter of the late John Thomas & Edna Mary (Edwards) Bray.A 1945 graduate of Jersey Township High School, Dorie had been employed as a clerk at Bertman's and Neal's Jewelry  both in Jerseyville, and had also worked at Rolando Real Estate.She was a volunteer at Jersey Community Hospital and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.She was devout member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and was loyal in her faith, but more than anything was loyal to her family whom she loved dearly.She married Robert Harrison Shaw on Jan. 17, 1948 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and they shared 55 years together before his death on April 23, 2003.Surviving are four daughters & sons in law, Sandy Rolando of Springfield, Janie & Robin Schroeder, Susie & Gordon Becker all of Jerseyville, and Trish & Billy Green of Grafton; a son & daughter in law, Bobby & Andrea Shaw of Naperville; 15 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren, and two on the way; two sisters, Margie McIntyre and Jeannie Miller both of Jerseyville; and three brothers & sisters in law, John & Frances Bray, Bob & Joy Bray, and Jim & Ann Bray all of Jerseyville; along with many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son in law, William Rolando; a granddaughter, Jennifer Rolando; and four sisters, Edna Mary Cook, Lois Bray, Helen Seago, and Katie Bleicher.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Ghost Catholic with Father James Schroeder SCJBurial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools or to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
