Richard David Greene of Alton left this life December 30, 2011 in Mission TX, where he wintered. Born July 23, 1937 in St. Charles Mo to David A and Lucile (Fredholt) Greene. For many years he owned and operated Bethalto Zephyr/Citgo Service Station. Retiring in 1998.He is survived by wife Claudette (Wooldridge) Greene, they married December 25, 1987 in Las Vegas .Also survived by:Dennis R. Greene,- Margi Cook, special friend of St. LouisCynthia D. Greene- Andrew Buckley, husband of St Thomas VILinda (Sandner) Roden and husband Robert of Godfrey ILSusan (Sandner) Gibson and husband Timothy of Fairfax VATom O. Sandner and Susan (Skrabacz) Huntsville ALNine Grand children and three Great GrandchildrenAlso one brother Donald W. Greene of St. Charles, MO.Family was all important to him. Took pleasure in music, tennis, golf, water sports and hunting. He traveled when possible , wintering in Arizona and Texas. He was a past alderman in St. Charles MO, past member of the Bethalto Rotary, recent member of the George Rogers Clark Order of the National Society Sons of American Revolution (SAR). Attended Main St. Methodist Church.Per his wishes, Richard was cremated.Calling Hours will be at the Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton on Sunday January 8, 2012, beginning at 1:30 until time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM. Officiated by Rev Dr. Jame Hass. Burial will be at St Johns United Church of Christ Cemetery in St. Charles, MO.
