Geraldine “Gerri” Marie Dunn, age 84, died at 5:07 am on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jerseyville, IL.
She was born on August 10, 1927 in Pekin, IL the daughter of the late Arlie and Sylvia (Emery) Grills. She was a long time member of the Beltline Christian Center in Alton. She retired as a machine operator at Olin Corporation in East Alton. On October 30, 1946 in Alton she married Roy E. Dunn and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2007.
Geraldine is survived by a daughter; Janet K. and her husband Timothy Cook of Brighton, IL., three sons; Michael E. Dunn and his wife Karen of Mesa, Az., Mervin L. Dunn of East Alton, IL., David A. Dunn and his wife Susan of Brighton, IL. seven grandchildren Michael Roy Dunn, Michelle R. and (Jeff) King, Jennifer J. and (Nate) Brooks, Kelly B. Gonulsen, Seth T. Kempf, Lindsey N. Dunn, Sarah A. (John) Gesky; two great grandchildren Collin and Claudia King, Dean and Grant Gesky. She was preceded in death by two brothers Calvin E. Grills and Orland Dale Grills.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 pm Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday. Rev. Carl Cook will be officiating.
