Lonnie Dean Woolsey, 52, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital after an apparent heart attack he suffered on his way home from work.He was born in Carrollton on Oct. 19, 1959, one of eleven children born to the the William C. & Bernice Irene (Hetzel) Woolsey.Lonnie was raised in the Kane area, and graduated in 1977 from Jersey Community High School.He married the former Susan Renee Rogers on April 9, 1977 in Jerseyville, and together they shared 21 years together, and were the parents of three children.  Susan died on June 22, 1998 from complications of leukemia.He had worked at Diamond Meat Packing for a short period, and was currently working as a machinist for Hanley Industries in Alton.  He also enjoyed being outdoors, and was content whether he was hunting, fishing, or working on the farm of Darrell & Barbara Krause of Carrollton, which he had done for many years.Surviving are a son & daughter in law, Bradley & Amanda Woolsey of White Hall; two daughters & sons in law, Amy & Bill Holland of Edinburg, and Melissa & Dusty Scoggins of Carrollton; his loving companion, Norma (Schulte) Davis of Carrollton, along with her two daughters,  Beth Davis, and her fiance', John Chester of Medora, Kayla, and her husband, Ryan Hansen of Godfrey; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Carolyn Mayberry of Dahlonega, Ga., Patsy Talkington of Springfield, Shirley Cordes of Copperopolis, Ca., Deborah Settles of Franklin Grove, Il.; five brothers, David Woolsey of Carrollton, Richard Woolsey of Kane, Ronald Woolsey of Fieldon, Hollan Woolsey and Robert Woolsey both of Kane; his father in law, Jimmie Rogers of Kane.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, an infant brother, Leslie Woolsey, and his mother in law, Betty Rogers.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.Memorials may be given to an educational fund for his grandchildren in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
