Lathelda “Jean” Klaus, 72, passed away at 11:46 am Monday November 21, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born on April 16, 1939 in East Alton, IL, the daughter of Jesse Hiram & Marion Blossom (Betz) King.
She married Walter Klaus at Forest Homes Baptist Church in Cottage Hills and he preceded her in death.
She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Bethalto and loved her family, birds, cats, dogs, especially Milburn’s Dog “Brockster.”
She is survived by one son Milburn A. King of Cottage Hills; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Amy and Terry King; two great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law, Jessie (Roy) Busse of Cottage Hills: a sister-in-law, Shirley King of Cottage Hills.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Robert King, a sister, Watona Pruitt and a brother, Paul King.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 12 noon until time of funeral at 2 pm Friday at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
