Herman Edgar Best, age 103, born April 11, 1908, in Petersen, IN. passed away, at 11:57 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Alton Rehab & Nursing.
Herman married Mildred Mitchell in 1934; she preceded him in death in 1976.
He was shipping supervisor for Shell Oil Co. in Wood River, retiring in 1970.
He is survived by a brother-in-law and several Nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes his body will be donated to Washington University for science.
