Nancy E. Hartley, 61, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born August 28, 1950 in Alton, the daughter of the late John and Laura (Stiritz) Hartley. On July 18, 2011 she was officially united in a civil union service with her life partner, Vicki L. Smith. She preceded her in death August 2, 2011. She retired from Christian Hospital Northeast as a Nurses Aide. Surviving are four sisters; Mary Jane Fleming and her husband Homer of Alton, Lillian Hartley of Greenfield, Wilma Katz of TN and Sally Pittman and her husband Paul of Willow Springs, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, and by her beloved Shih Tzu dog; Cuddles. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Dorothy Butler and Frances Hartley and two brothers; Robert and Joseph Hartley. Private burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
