Carol Jean Hyman Maggart, 72, passed away at 4:00 pm Monday September 5, 2011 at her residence with her family by her side under the care of Heartland Hospice.
She was born on October 15, 1938 in Alton the daughter of William & Cecil (Fisher) Hyman.
She was a secretary for East Middle School for the Alton Community School District #11 for over forty years before retiring. Carol was a member of the Salvation Army .
She is survived by three sons Stephen W. Maggart , Timothy S. Maggart, Bryan Maggart all of Alton, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four brothers Jack and wife Shirley Hyman of Bethalto, Clifford and wife Pauline Hyman of Brighton, Jim and wife Carol Hyman of Bethalto and Donald Hyman of Shipman.
Carol was receded by her parents, first husband Billy, two sisters Irene Smith, Charlotte Gillson, one brother Albert Hyman and one grandson Richie Maggart
Memorial Service will be Thursday September 8, 2011 from 5 pm until the time of service at 7 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with the Salvation Army Captain Melinda Tooley officiating.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
