Michael Wayne Clark, 45, passed away at 8:28 am Friday August 19, 2011 at  St. Anthony’s Hospital.

He was born December 18, 1965 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL son of Susan LaCoste and Larry Clark.

He married Teena Hagen on July 1, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV, she survives.

Mike graduated from Alton high School in 1984, after which he attended SIUE for three years. He worked for the Alton Telegraph as a delivery van driver and then worked for the Dynegy Midwest Generation Wood River Power Station as a shift Supervisor for twenty –five years. He loved the music of Led Zeppelin, ironically passing away the day before Robert Plant’s birthday.  He also loved the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, the Oakland Raiders football team, and his dog Raider. He lived life to the fullest and made the most of what short time he had on the earth.

In addition to his wife Teena, owner of Teena’s Day Spa and Boutique, he is survived by, his mother and step-father Susan and Russell LaCoste of Godfrey; father Larry Clark of Wood River; mother and father-in-law Janice and Herb Hagen of Fieldon, two step-sons Brandon Wittman of Jerseyville, and Chad Wittman of Alton; three grandchildren, Dayton, Peyton, and Haley Wittman; one brother and sister in law Bryan Clark and Barbara Scheffel; two half sisters, Nicole and Ashley Clark of East Alton, Aunt Ginny and Uncle Randy Clark of Roxana, Aunt Cheryl Clark-Way and Uncle Don Way of East Alton, eleven nieces and nephews, Brenna and Gabrielle Clark, John Louis, Christina and Elizabeth Duggan, Matthew, Curtis, and Brett Grasle, Micheal McDonald, Jordan Harvey, and Aliya Rogosky; and one great niece, Matte Grasle.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herschel and Lida Pyle, and Cletis and Vera Clark, and his beloved dogs Willie, Cashmere and Midnight.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday August 23, 2011 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL with Pastor Barb Alley officiating. 

Per his wishes, cremation rites will follow.

Memorials may be made to the Dayton, Peyton, and Haley Wittman Trust c/o Associated Bank, 104 Homer M Adams Pkwy, Alton IL, or the Pujols Family Foundation, 111 Westport Plaza, Suite 255, St. Louis, MO, 63146, or the 5 A’s Animal Shelter.
