Myrtle M. Hise, age 93, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Alton Rehab & nursing in Alton.
She was born on January 9, 1918 in Ridgeway Town Ship, IL. The daughter of Jess and Mary (Jones) McDaniel.
Myrtle married Gilbert J. Hise Sr. 0n September 6, 1941 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2008.
She was a Matron for the Alton School District 11 for over 20 years till her retirement. She was a member of the Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter; Doreen Lynn Hise of Seattle, WA, two sons and their spouses; Gilbert and Gayle Hise Jr., of Godfrey, and Ronnie Lee and Arnnette Hise, of De Motte, IN, five grandchildren Kristy and her spouse Bill Walker, Stephen and his spouse Julie Hise, Ronnie Hise Jr., Aaron Hise and Courtney Andrianus and three great grandchildren; Mary, Joshua and Jack Walker, and one brother William A. and his spouse Betty McDaniel of Brea, CA..
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Gilbert, and one brother Jess McDaniel Jr who died as a Paratrooper in W.W. II.
Visitation will be Friday June 10, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Saturday June 11, 2011 at Brown Street Baptist church in Alton, with the Rev. David Burman officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the Youth Choir of Brown Street Baptist Church.
