Gloria Flynn

Gloria J. Flynn, 66, formerly of Jerseyville, died at 10:45 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.She was born in Alton on Aug. 31, 1944, the daughter of the late Frederick & Lillian Helen (Middleton) Rowland.Gloria attended Alton Senior High School, and was currently a member of the United House of Prayer in New Douglas.  Gloria was a homemaker who devoted herself to her family.She married Thomas E. Flynn in Alton, and March 25, 1968, and they have celebrated 43 years of marriage.She is survived by her husband, Thomas Flynn of East Alton; eight children & their spouses, Thomas Flynn Jr. of Alton, Elaina & Kevin Osterbur of Highland, Carla & Mike Maynard of Alton, Steve Bunch of Lake Ozark, Mo., Bryan Thompson of East Alton, Jill (Flynn) Saunders of East Alton, Missy & Richard Smith of East Alton, and Michael & Czitette) Flynn of Maryland; 13 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Monday until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with Rev. Larry Kirchner officiating.Burial will be in the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be given to a charity of ones choice.
