Doris I. Spurgeon, 87, passed away at 11:40 am Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on February 12, 1924 in Alton, IL, the daughter of William O. and Emma E. (Maple) Baldridge.
She married Burrell J. Spurgeon on December 11, 1945 in Alton, IL. He passed away on February 18, 1997.
Doris was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Moro Presbyterian Church and attended the L.I.F.T. meetings in Alton. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Colleen of Dorsey; three grandchildren and their spouses, Victor and Taun Spurgeon, Abby & Matt Brodtman and Leslie and Jim Beer; four great grandchildren, Abbi, Ethan, Austin, Isaac and expecting a fifth in August and a sister, Wilma Jenschie of TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Clara and Lelia.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until a memorial service at 11:00 am on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Moro Presbyterian Church.
Inurnment will be at Moro Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Moro Presbyterian Church.
