Leona E. Wilson, age 101, passed away at 8:00 am Monday, May 30, 2011 at VIP Manor Nursing Home in Wood River.
She was born on October 12, 1909 in New Minden, IL, the daughter of the late Fred and Corolyn (Nagle) Eickmeyer.
Leona married Lloyd V. Wilson on 1940 in Alton, and he preceded her in death in December of 1997.
She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey, and worked for Olin Ammunition for twenty-five years, retiring in 1965. She enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting, crocheting, and doing housework.
She is survived by a cousin, Tula Neuhaus of Alton, and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters preceded her in death.
A visitation will be from 10 am until service time at 11 am Thursday June 2, 2011 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor Kelly Mitteis officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
