Milan W. “Dot” Fleming, age 83, passed away at 9:18 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Alton, on October 20, 1927 to the late Robert C. and Ada F. Fleming.
Milan was married to Audrey M. Bates. She survives.
He served his country in the US Army. Milan was a crane operator in the wire mill at Laclede Steel for over 30 years before his retirement. He also enjoyed working out side planting his garden and working with flowers. His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially with his daughter Kim.
He is survived by, one daughter and her spouse; Kim and Tom Pritchert of Alton, three brothers and there spouses; Gary and Joyce Fleming of Alton, Homer and Mary Fleming of Alton, and David and Eleanor Fleming of Bethalto, five sisters; Frances and her spouse George Campbell of Alton, Doris Quigley of Moro, June and her spouse Kenneth Campbell of Alton, Norma Tyree of Staunton, and Mae and her husband Vernon Wright of Delhi, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Robert W. Fleming, two brothers; Eugene Fleming, and Leonard Fleming and one sister; Virginia Coons.
Visitation will be on Saturday May 14, 2011 from 11:30 am till time of service at 12:30 pm, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with the Rev. Nicole Cox officiating
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, Il.
Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or American Lung association or Southwestern Dialisis in East Alton.
