Gregory Klunk

Gregory "Greg" Elbert Klunk, 53, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton. He was born at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Il on Dec. 17, 1957, the fifth of six children born to the late Walter Sigmund & Nadine (Lowe) Klunk.Greg grew up on a farm near Dow, and attended Dow & East Elementary and Jersey Community High School.  He enjoyed being outdoors, either fishing, hunting, or assisting on the family farm, and later occupied himself by chauffering his father to and from town.Surviving are two sisters, Sandra McIntire and her husband, Ed Reynolds of Godfrey, and Angela Hires of Griggsville; three brothers, Gary Klunk  and Dennis Klunk both of Godfrey, and Dale, and his wife, Karen Klunk of Dow; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister in law, Beverly Klunk.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jersevyille where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.  Rev. Bo Schultz will officiate.Burial will be in the Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.Memorials may be given to the William BeDell Achievement and Resource Center in Alton.
