Alberta Johnson, 100, formerly of Alton, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Ridgewood Center in Ridgewood, NJ.
Born March 16, 1911 in Cadiz, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Oscar and Leona (Guier) Mason.
She was a former member of the Community Christian Church in Alton. She married Harry Johnson in 1941. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1961.
Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Jean Malone, five grandchildren, Patrick Malone, Peter Malone, Mollie Malone, Matthew Malone and Claire Chadwick, two great grandchildren, Kevin and Peter Chadwick all of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by a son, Fay Malone, and a grandson, Christopher Malone.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton followed by a graveside service at Upper Alton Cemetery. Reverend Dave Burger will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Community Christian Church.
