Joan M. Meyer, 78, passed away at 12:59 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2011 at VIP Manor in Wood River. Born March 26, 1932 in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., she was the daughter of John C. and Stella (Naumann) Panchot. She married Donald Meyer Oct. 3, 1953 in Ste. Genevieve. He survives. A clerk at Farm Fresh for 12 years, she was a big Cardinal fan.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Donald Dickinson of East Alton; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tonya Meyer of Bethalto; four grandchildren, Mark Meyer, Jr. and his wife Amie, Allison Meyer, Erica Kline, and Lacey Dodd; 6 great grandchildren, Pacey, Raven, Mariah, Sawyer, Mackenzie and Sydney; a brother, John Panchot, Jr. of Bonne Terre, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Marie Mudd of East Alton, Juanita Porter of Bethalto and Mavis Melton of Ste. Genevieve; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece and nephew, Joyce and John Gray; and her special companion, her dog Lilly.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 6 p.m. until a memorial service begins at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
