Everett E. Reddish, 79, passed away at 3:26 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital.  Born Jan. 2, 1932 in East Hardin, Ill., he was a son of Elmer and Ida (Hensler) Reddish.  He retired in 1991 after 30 years as a diesel mechanic.

He married Gayle Taylor July 26, 1974 in Godfrey.  She survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Everett Elliott of Bethalto and Lori and mark McCollum of Moro, Ill.; a step son, James Hutcheson of Tupelo, Miss.; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and a sister, Bernice Bailey of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eddie Reddish; a sister, Bernadine Bailey; and three brothers, Robert, George and Maurice Reddish.

According to his wishes, the body was cremated, and private inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to 5 A’s animal shelter in Alton.
