Janice K. Gackstatter, 59, passed away at 10:35 am Monday, January 24, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on October 12, 1951 in Herrin, IL, the daughter of James L. and Bette (McClain) Sanders.
She married Peter J. Gackstatter on September 26, 2006 in Cottage Hills, IL. He survives.
Janice was a homemaker most of her life. She loved to cook, watch shopping channels and read.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Rebecca Gillespie of Alton, David Gillespie of Corpus Christie, TX, Chris McCulloch of O’Fallon, MO and Gary Edelen of O’Fallon, MO; ten grandchildren, Zach, Ali, Ashley, Andrea, Brianna, Kylie, Todd, Tyler, Briahna, and Bradie; two great grandchildren, Dani Elizabeth Gillespie and Zach Edelen and a sister, Pamela (Sanders) Copeland of Bloomington, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In celebration of her life, a visitation will be from 12:00 pm until a service at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Rev. Matt McNeely officiating.
