Adolph M. Ponder Jr., 58, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at his residence. He was born on December 5, 1952, in Granite City, Illinois the son of the late Adolph M. and Juanita Ponder Sr.. Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Tonya and John Rathgeber of Columbia, Missouri, two sons and daughters in law: Devin and Belinda Ponder of Granite City, Illinois, Anthony and Tina Ponder of Bethalto, Illinois, two grandchildren, four sisters and brothers in law: Doreen Ponder of Troy, Illinois, Tammy and Nathan Bickell of Eureka, Missouri, Debby and Chuck Rickett of Granite City, Illinois, Yvette Matavolich of Granite City, Illinois, two brothers and a sister in law: Tommy and Dana Ponder of Troy, Illinois, Tony Ray Thompson of Gillespie, and his step mother: Barb Ponder Scott of Pontoon Beach, Illinois.
He was formerly employed at Olin Brass in the maintenance department. He was a founding member of the Black Diamond Motorcycle Chapter. He loved riding his Harley Davidson.
He was preceded his parents, one brother: Danny, and one sister: Dolphene.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 11am until time of funeral services at 1pm on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Rev. Richard Turner will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
