Lois M. Lucas, 83, went to be with the Lord at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2011 at Eldercare Nursing Home in Alton.
She was born on April 5, 1927 in Mammoth Springs, AR, the daughter of the late Tomas Jefferson & Lillie Mae (Richardson) Colley.
She married A. Chandler “Jim” Turner on December 24, 1948 in Alton; he passed away on January 1, 1974. She then remarried Louis J. Lucas on February 14, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV, he survives.
Lois was a member the First Faith Family Forgiveness Church in East Alton. She enjoyed raising her daughter and children and especially a set of twins that she watched for 13 years.
She is survived by, her daughter Anita Sue Turner of Alton; two grandchildren, Rodney Bollini and Darla Hooks; two great grandchildren, Halie and Brenden and a new grandchild on the way; one aunt, Alberta Whitehead of Dover, TN and several nieces.
In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her first husband; seven brothers and sisters, Olene Phelps, Imogene Harian, Hubert Colley, Curtis Colley, Juanita Wolfe, Darrel Colley and Norma Lee Miester.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 28, 2011 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor Michael E. Vaughn officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
