Barbara E. Warnock, 73, died at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton. Born June 29, 1937 in Wood River, she was the daughter of Clinton and Olga Mae (Triplett) Shattuck. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse/administrator working at both St. Anthony’s Hospital and St. Clare’s Hospital and retired May 31, 2000. She was a member of Godfrey First United Methodist Church in Godfrey. On August 15, 1958 in Roxana, she married Wilbur Warnock. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1997.
Surviving is a son, Steven M. Warnock of Alton, three sisters, Olga Jane Harris of Godfrey, Doris Louise From of Bloomfield, IN, and Cathy Lynn Maldonado of Smithton, IL, eight nephews and one niece, and several great nieces and nephews, including local residents, Kyla, Kole, Karma and Logan.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Godfrey First United Methodist Church. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate. Burial will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery in Edwardsville.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
